 June 17, 2000 is an important day and favorite holiday for the Chechen youth and nation as a whole…A grand ceremony dedicated to this date - the 10th years anniversary of Akhmat –Hajji Kadyrov’s appointment as president of the Chechen Republic- has been held today in Glory Alley (Grozny square). The Chechen Republic Government’s Youth Affairs Committee is an organizer of the celebration.
June 17th of 2000 became a beginning of the new epoch in the Chechen nation’s life. A lot of good things were done in the Chechen Republic since the above-mentioned date. The life in the republic changed for the better since the day of Akhmat –Hajji Kadyrov’s appointment as president of the Chechen Republic. Today everybody can see all significant results of then-president’s policy.
Among those present at the ceremony were representatives of the local youth organizations with flags of the Russian Federation, Chechen Republic and All-Russia political party «United Russia».
A number of the Chechen artists went on to perform on stage. People were dancing a lezginka (traditional national dance). The artists were singing patriotic songs. Gradually the weather became more favourable for the celebration and it must be said that the ceremony was magnificent.
