140 terrorists were eliminated in the Chechen Republic last year. The Chechen president now states that the republic is one of the Russian peaceful regions. “Today our republic is as safe as other Russian regions are. I’d like to say that we live in much safer region. However, the world faces the threat of terrorism every day and we are not an exception,” - the president said. “Public, politicians – everybody must make every effort to eliminate this evil. Terrorists have a purpose- to kill the people. They don’t take interest in anyone’s nationality. Bomb explosions in Moscow Metro have proved it. They want to press the people,” – Kadyrov emphasized. “Muslim clerics with their pure Islam knowledge must be our strong and effective way of counteracting the vahhabizm,”- the Chechen president added. “Our alims (Muslim clerics) have been working with us from the very beginning of the Chechen republic revival. Adults are being explained how the vahhabizm works and what it is. We explain our rising generations that suicide and murder are the most awful sins. There are a lot of TV and radio programmes, printed editions, CDs and DVDs that teach the people to follow Islam in the republic,” – an agency worker told. “If ideologists of terrorism use religious ways to prepare the people for self-destruction then we’ll use their ways to fight against them,”- R.
