The Chechen Republic Registration of Voters

System of registration of voters and participants of referenda is an important part of voting process. Inhabitants of the Chechen Republic, who had to leave the republic because of the wars, began coming back. That’s why it is important to hold this registration for the purpose of securing rights of the Russian Federation voters living in the Chechen Republic. Meanwhile, the State computerized system called "Elections" (SAS) is being developed too. In connection with it, the Chechen Republic president Ramzan Kadyrov signed the Order № 5 for the purpose of restoring and maintaining order of voters’ registration. This order charges heads of every Chechen administration with providing general information about voters to the Chechen Election Committee once a month.  Meetings are being held in every district of the republic for the purpose of performing the above-mentioned task. Heads of Chechen administrations, heads of RO’s, members of ChEC take part in these meetings. Three meetings have been recently held in Leninsky, Sunzhensky and Shelkovskoi districts and in Grozny city. Participants of these meeting considered a number of questions on joint activity of the municipal bodies, judicial system and ROs in sphere of voters’ registration. Ela Vakhitov said following a meeting that some officials had been charged with controlling the process of performing the task set by the Chechen Republic president.
