The Chechen Human Rights Activists Appeal

10th December is marked as the Human Rights’ Day all over the world. In 1948 the United Nations General Assembly approved " the General Human Rights Declaration ". This Declaration was based on the millennial experience of mankind. "People are equal…,” the Declaration proclaims. Surviving has been the only problem facing the Chechens during last twenty years, and protecting our rights has been the minor one. Nobody can fully appreciate the peace, stability and order as we can! In fact, we remember our “former” republic and we perfectly remember what terrible condition it was in.  Of course, we are still faced with some problems, but our leadership created the conditions that allow our people to protect their rights. The European Charter has come into force since December on the RF territory. It gives us more opportunities.     Today I appeal to everybody: Remember that solution of problems concerning the human rights depends on taking active part in public life by each citizen of the republic.
